On Nov. 28th, a 2020 Hainan Island International Film Festival press conference was held in Sanya. This year’s eight themed screenings will provide audiences a “feast of movies". The famed Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi, will be the ambassador of the 2020 Film Festival.

A record high number of films were registered in this year’s Hainan International Film Festival, and a record number of screenings will be held as well. A total of 97 films will premiere in China during the event. Xu Zheng and other famed directors will be on hand to share their film-making experience. 

In addition, this year's Festival selection focuses on films made by newcomers, giving them more opportunities to be recognized by the public.
