Shen Xiaoming meets with the president of AIIB and chairman of CEXIM

On November 23, Shen Xiaoming, Governor of Hainan Province held separate meetings with Jin Liqun, President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), and Hu Xiaolian, Chairman of the Export-Import Bank of China (CEXIM) on cooperation related affairs in Haikou, China.

According to Shen Xiaoming, Hainan will adhere to the strategic positioning of the Pilot Zone for Comprehensively Deepening Reform and Opening Up, the Pilot Zone for the Countrys Ecological Civilization, the Strategic Service Guarantee Zone, and the International Tourism Consumption Center, as well as carry out several major infrastructure projects, further develop the province's high-tech industries including crop cultivation, deep-sea science & technology, and aerospace technology, to promote the high-quality development of the Hainan Free Trade Port. Hainan hopes that the AIIB will support investment in Hainans major infrastructure projects as well as the development of industries including plastic-replacement products, clean energy vehicles, public health, and education. Hainan also expects to strengthen cooperation with CEXIM in the development of Hainans high-tech industries to promote the establishment of an open, ecological and service-oriented industrial system.

According to Jin Liqun, the AIIB is willing to strengthen cooperation with Hainan in the above areas and contribute to the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port.

According to Hu Xiaolian, foreign economic, trade, and investment development are key businesses for CEXIM, and are very much in line with the construction demands of the Hainan Free Trade Port. CEXIM hopes that the two sides will strengthen cooperation in promoting the development of foreign trade, service trade, high-end manufacturing, and other industries.
