Wan Gang, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), said the global auto industry should work closely together to speed up a transformation to become "electric, intelligent, and shared". We should develop electricity-driven, low-carbon vehicles, ensure safe operation, increase market promotion, and further enhance the competitiveness of new-energy vehicles. Additionally, we should promote the application of autonomous driving technology, accelerate the development of online car-hailing and time-sharing rental travel services, fully promote the development of hydrogen energy and fuel cell-driven vehicles, and create a new ecosystem for the integrated development of the new energy vehicle industry.

Clemens von Goetze, German Ambassador in China, said that Germany will further relax market access, build a fair competition market environment, and deepen cooperation with China in economic, ecological, environmental protection, and other fields.

Shen Xiaoming, Governor of Hainan Province, said that Hainan has made new achievements in the ownership of new energy vehicles and vehicle-charging pile ratios over the past year. He concluded that, the development of new energy vehicles has great potential, as Hainan enjoys both the domestic and the Southeast Asian markets, as well as the preferential policies of the Free Trade Port.

Additionally, Hainan province plans to phase out the sale of fuel-powered vehicles and is considering banning them from the roads by 2030. This is very likely, in fact, to happen sooner.
