Editor's notes:

The policy of establishing the Hainan Free Trade Zone and the Free Trade Port with Chinese characteristics is a significant move in China. Numerous foreigners have come to Hainan and settled down in this international tropical island in the past two years.

Special reports of Foreigners in Hainan · I'm waiting for you in Hainan Free Trade Port planned by Hainan International Media Center (HIMC), hihainan.info, will tell the stories of foreigners living and working in Hainan from the perspective of our foreign guest hosts. The program aims to share Hainan's stories with the people around the world, and connect China with other countries of the globe.

Today, we are here with the French photographer Jeremy. Could you introduce yourself first and why you chose Hainan as your living and working place?

I am Jeremy from France. And I am doing photography and videography. I have been in Hainan for 11 years. My friend invited me to come to Hainan. Since I first arrived, I liked the place and decided to stay in Hainan.

Do you have any interesting experience during your work? And what messages do you want to deliver through your works?

Mostly my works are commercial videos. I always have opportunities to travel around Hainan. The interesting thing is that I often get bitten by mosquitoes, but these are worth it for the beauty of Hainan. Previously, we made an anti-epidemic video. This short film intended to record my life and I tried to make it fun for people who feel bored during their time at home.

What's your vision in Hainan?

I would like to keep doing more short videos for fun. Hainan is more and more open now. This year, I would like to travel to more places in Hainan that people do not normally see. That would be cool if I could participate in the Hainan Island Film Festival. It is something I would definitely like to do.

I want to tell you that Hainan's policies are becoming more and more open to foreign companies. So I am looking forward to seeing you at Hainan Free Trade Port.
